Reunion

Today me and mom and Jenny went on a big adventure to the reunion picnic for Wright-Way Rescue, where I came from. This was the first year I could go to the reunion so I was very excited. We rode in the Jeep with the back window rolled up so I got to see and smell lots of interesting things just on the ride up there.

I went to sleep for a while in the backseat when we were on the highway. It was a little noisy back there.
I couldn't wait to get out and see everything when we got to the forest preserve out in Lake County.
Here we are all ready to sign in and start meeting people.

I said hi to lots of dogs on our way to set things down in the shade. I got to participate in the best trick contest (I did a wave and high-five) and even tried going through a tunnel like the dogs who do agility. It was my first time ever trying that and I went through to get to mom on the other side!
There were all sorts of things going on throughout the day, including a raffle for the people. I was pretty tired by the end of the day when the raffle was going on so I just decided to lay down in the middle of the floor.

Here mom is telling me what a good, handsome boy I am.

The coolest thing about meeting all the dogs today was seeing a new dog named Rufus that looked a lot like me! We can't be from the same litter because we are different ages, but we looked so much alike mom and his dad couldn't get over it. Rufus is bigger than I am, and I don't normally like to play with bigger dogs, but I really liked him.

Right here I was chewing on Rufus and having a great time before we said goodbye for the day. We really wanted to run around and jump and play. I hope I get to see Rufus again some time so we can do all of that.

I got more treats before we left, and I waited patiently for the lady to hand me a tennis ball to take home.

I was so happy to have a new ball and be outside having fun that I just rolled all around by myself for a while. We had a lot of fun but we were all tired from the whole day so we packed up to head back home.

I was really glad I got to go to the reunion picnic this year. I wonder if I will be able to get in touch with any of my litter mates at some point because they took down our information. Hopefully we can meet some of my family and stay in touch with them! Wright-Way Rescue has a new facility in Niles, IL. If you are looking to adopt a new friend, you can find them on PetFinder or get more information from their site here. Please look into adoption if you are considering a new furry friend! There are a lot of great animals just like me that need homes too. I know my mom feels so lucky to have adopted me as a puppy from this organization, but I am the lucky one since I have a wonderful forever home!
